NEW YORK CITY ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SESSION AT CENTRAL PARK AND DUMBO, BROOKLYN
As a professional photographer, I have enjoyed documenting many engagement sessions across New York City. A few places stand out as especially scenic and romantic, and Central Park and DUMBO in Brooklyn are two of my top choices.
Central Park: A Natural Backdrop in the Heart of Manhattan
Central Park is a lovely haven in the middle of the city. Its 843 acres of lush greenery, picturesque bridges, and charming corners are ideal for engagement photos. Whether you’re wandering through the gardens, relaxing by the lake, or strolling the scenic pathways, there is no shortage of beautiful places to photograph.
Bethesda Fountain and Bow Bridge
Bethesda Fountain is one of my favorite spots in the park. Its grandeur and intricate detail make a beautiful backdrop for romantic portraits. Bow Bridge is another well-known location, ideal for couples who want an iconic New York City setting.
DUMBO, Brooklyn: Skyline Views and Cobblestone Streets
DUMBO is another fantastic location for engagement photos. The waterfront neighborhood offers Manhattan skyline views, cobblestone streets, and the famous carousel. Brooklyn Bridge Park is also a popular choice, with waterfront views and the Brooklyn Bridge rising overhead.
The Washington Street View
The corner of Washington Street in DUMBO is one of my favorite locations. It frames the Manhattan Bridge in a famous, dramatic view, and it is a romantic choice for couples who want a classic New York City engagement photo.
Choosing the Best Time of Day
When planning your session, consider the time of day and the weather. In both Central Park and DUMBO, early morning and late afternoon are generally the best times to shoot, when the sun is softer and the light is gentle and romantic.
